[1] VARITHENA™ is our preferred treatment of the two treatments we use for varicose vein. It requires no incision, no laser, no heat, and no pain. We simply access the vein at the lowest part we need to treat just like starting an IV, and then inject a condensed foam solution and hold pressure in the groin area for 10 minutes. With a simple access at one point below the knee we can treat all the way to the groin. Finally, your leg is then wrapped and a stocking applied. The procedure itself takes about 20. minutes. There is little or no discomfort and you can start normal activities immediately. The Varithena™ procedure causes malfunctioning veins to close and rerouting blood flow to healthy veins. This actually makes your circulation better and relieves your symptoms. This is currently accepted by most insurances.

[2] ENDOVENOUS LASER ABLATION (EVLA) is a tried and true procedure. We start with an IV access then pass a laser fiber in the vein to the highest point we need to treat. We use a numbing solution so the patient doesn’t feel the laser heat. We then close the vein with laser energy. The procedure is slightly more involved than Varithena with a recovery time of a few days, but most patients resume their daily activities the same or next day. We have used this procedure for over 15 years with excellent results. This procedure is required by some insurances.

VARICOSE VEIN TREATMENTS

spider veins TREATMENTS

If you’re experiencing discomfort or concerns from spider veins, Sclerotherapy Venous injection therapy effectively closes off the diseased veins or capillaries which are then reabsorbed into the body and disappear. During this procedure, your doctor will inject a solution into the spider veins. This damages the vein wall causing the veins to seal up over time. Blood can no longer flow through the sealed vein, and over time the veins will fade away improving the appearance of the treated area. Since the body has an extensive supply of veins, blood will simply redirect to a healthier vein that is not visible. Sclerotherapy is a simple and straightforward treatment, typically taking less than 30 minutes to complete in-office. You walk in and walk out, and there is no downtime after the treatment. Multiple appointments may be required to see complete results.
